Welcome to Tamworth Montessori Preschool

The Tamworth Montessori Preschool had its beginnings as a two mornings per week playgroup in 1986. In 1987 a small band of parents renovated a rented property at 11 Darling Street, Tamworth, and the Preschool began five-morning sessions per week. Later that year, a three-afternoon sessions per week class commenced.

In February 1991, the Preschool began operation from its current home in 84 Carthage Street, Tamworth. This property is owned by the parent body and has been refurbished to meet the needs of the Preschool. We are now a thriving multi-cultural community preschool.

Enrol your child with us

Find out how to enrol into our Preschool and when your child is eligible to start. Families may place their child’s name on our waiting list at any time. We recommend at least 12 months before their start date. Children may start once they turn 3 years old, subject to place availability.

Procedure of Enrolment

Waiting list details can be taken by filling out the form on our contact us page. When a parent/carer is unable to come to the Centre or fill out the form, application may be taken over the phone. (02) 6766 7755.

Application details are placed on the enrolment list in order of application date.
All families who have requested enrolment for the following year will be sent a Letter of Preference in July of the year before attendance.
Enrolment offers are sent out during Term 4.
Each family will attend a personal enrolment meeting. This will detail the program, policy, preschool management and general preschool information.
Families are required to pay $75 enrolment levy (non refundable) upon accepting their child’s position and return all enrolment forms and departmental regulation forms and Australian immunisation history statements.
Upon the child's start date, families will be given an information package about the preschool, a welcome letter for your child, a water bottle, shirt, hat and personal care bag. Please note the hat and personal care bags stay at preschool.
